Workforce Development - Taking Students From Education to Implementation
Empower your educational programs by offering a world-class, recognized and industry endorsed certificate program in unmanned flight. As one of the fastest-growing industries, the commercial use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) also known as "Drones" is creating a burgeoning need for SAFE, professional, and certified remote pilots. Offering your student's USI's exciting and innovative certification programs allows them to expand their opportunities and options in one of the most exciting and sought-after industries.
A great solution for middle school programs looking to supplement drones into their curriculum or colleges looking to mitigate risk associated with drones on campus. SAFEGUARD analyzes the necessary actions, national airspace, and hazards of operating drones.
SAFE FLIGHT PROGRAM
sUAS Safety Ground School
Prepare your students to take and pass the FAA Part 107 Exam, required to fly drones for hire. This curriculum incorporates safety best practices while providing students the knowledge and tools necessary to obtain their Remote Pilot Certificate.
4 COURSE SAFETY PROGRAM
sUAS Safety Certification Program
Designed to set a safety inspired foundation for any UAS operation. This comprehensive four course program has been evaluated and recommended for 12 College credits through American Council on Education (ACE). This program establishes a safety case for complex operations for the FAA and prepares all participants to be responsible remote pilots ready to lead in the UAS industry.
VISUAL LINE OF SIGHT SYSTEM OPERATIONS
Visual Line of Sight System Operations
Also known as VSO provides practical knowledge required for safe and professional UAS operations. VSO analyzes Phases of Flight, Site Survey, Airspace Analysis, Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Response, Post Flight Processes, and more. VSO combines flight training and practical education to create a curriculum that averages 155 hours of content and instruction.
Unmanned Safety Institute implements several modalities to deliver content and curriculum as no two programs are alike. From collegiate to commercial and CTE to math and science, implementation of USI curriculum and content looks very different. Utilizing rigorous and innovative delivery techniques ensures the learning objectives are delivered while meeting the needs of the learner and classroom. Modular design empowers the instructor to choose the pace, pedagogy, and news events to tie content to reality while maintaining rigor and curriculum learning objectives.
Utilizing modern day technology, USI coursework can be delivered utilizing video based meetings built into the coursework on the Learning Management System. This model allows for instructor facilitation and learner driven completion. USI utilizes this model for homeschool students and commercial learners.
For classrooms that meet a couple of days a week, the hybrid model presents an effective option. Much like the online model, the instructor facilitates the classroom and provides lectures while in the classroom and the learner completes the online coursework between sessions.
This model is preferred by some as it is completely classroom driven. There is still an online component to the coursework including assessments, but incorporates more lecture based delivery of the content in the textbook as well as classroom discussions. Due to the length of some of USI's coursework, this is only an option for some of the shorter frameworks unless ample time exists for in person delivery.
